Nature, Waterfalls & Berber Culture – A Refreshing Escape from Marrakech
Discover a peaceful oasis just an hour outside of Marrakech with this one-day excursion to the stunning Ourika Valley, nestled in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. This refreshing getaway combines lush landscapes, authentic Berber culture, and the beauty of cascading waterfalls.

Morning Departure from Marrakech
After breakfast, your journey begins as we leave the busy streets of Marrakech behind and head into the scenic countryside. Along the way, you’ll pass through small Berber villages and picturesque orchards known for producing walnuts, apples, and aromatic herbs.
Keep an eye out for roadside stalls selling medicinal herbs and oils, as well as camels resting in the shade—offering short rides for those curious to experience a traditional form of travel.
Hike to the Ourika Waterfalls
Once we reach Setti Fatma, the final village in the valley, our adventure continues on foot. A local guide will lead you on a 30-minute uphill walk along a rocky trail toward the beautiful Ourika waterfalls. The path can be a little steep and uneven, so we recommend walking slowly and following your guide’s steps.
The reward at the top? Breathtaking views of the valley, fresh mountain air, and the chance to dip your hands in the cool, clear water cascading down the rocks.
Traditional Berber Lunch
After the descent, we’ll return to the valley floor and relax at a charming riverside restaurant, where you can enjoy a delicious Berber tagine, freshly prepared with local ingredients. There’s nothing quite like dining with the sound of the river beside you and the green mountains all around.
Return to Marrakech
In the late afternoon, we make our way back to Marrakech. You’ll be dropped off at your riad or hotel with a heart full of mountain magic and the memory of a peaceful day in nature.
