This immersive 5-day tour takes you from the cultural capital of Fes to the vast deserts of Merzouga and Zagora, through dramatic valleys, traditional Berber villages, and historic kasbahs. You’ll ride camels into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, sleep under the stars, visit ancient caravan towns like Rissani, and traverse the stone deserts of the Draa Valley. The route is filled with stunning landscapes, nomadic encounters, and authentic Moroccan hospitality.
Your desert adventure begins with departure from Fes, heading south through the alpine town of Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou, home to wild Barbary apes.
Stop for lunch in Zaida before crossing the dramatic Ziz Gorges.
Visit a fossil museum in Erfoud, then continue toward Merzouga.
Upon arrival, meet your camel guide and begin a magical ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Spend the night in a desert camp under the stars, enjoying dinner and traditional music around the fire.
After breakfast and a camel ride back to Merzouga, visit the historic town of Rissani, including the tomb of Moulay Ali Cherif.
Continue through the rocky plains and acacia-dotted landscapes of the Hamada, passing through Alnif and Tazarine.
Visit nomadic families en route, then arrive at the palm groves of Zagora.
Settle into a charming hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Today’s journey leads through the lush Draa Valley, known for its endless palm oases and kasbahs.
Visit the historic Kasbah of Tamnougalt with a local guide.
Continue to Ouarzazate for lunch and explore the Atlas Film Studios and Taourirt Kasbah.
Journey onward to the Skoura palm grove to visit the beautifully preserved Kasbah Amridil.
Travel through the Valley of Roses and arrive at Dades Gorges for dinner and overnight in a traditional guesthouse.
After breakfast, explore the scenic Dades Valley before heading to Tinghir to visit an old Jewish quarter.
Continue to the towering cliffs of Todra Gorges, then pass through Tinjdad, Goulmima, and the impressive Ziz Valley.
After a stop for lunch in Errachidia, continue through the Middle Atlas to reach the town of Midelt,
where you’ll stay overnight in a hotel.
On your final day, enjoy breakfast and depart for Fes.
Travel once again through the cedar forests of Azrou, with a stop to observe the wild monkeys.

On your 4-day desert trip from Marrakech, Pick up at your hotel in Marrakech at 8:30 a.m. and start of the route. Departure from Marrakech via the Col Tichka mountain pass, where we will cross the Atlas Mountains, making stops to enjoy the magnificent views that the route has in store for us and to rest or take photos whenever you feel like it. Continuation to Ouarzazate, where we will contemplate the Kasbah of Taourirt. We continue the route, meeting the town of Skoura, located in the heart of the valley of palm trees, an extensive and labyrinthine oasis whose exuberant vegetation covers beautiful secret kasbahs. We will take a 4×4 tour through the Skoura palm grove and we will also visit its Amerdil Kasbah. . From here, we will continue through the Valley of Roses (famous for their cultivation) until we reach the impressive Dades gorges. Dinner and overnight at the Dades Hotel.
After breakfast, we will continue along the banks of Boulmane, where a road opens up dotted with kasbahs (fortresses or castles) and ksour (fortified citadels), whose landscape is ocher, red, and mauve. Around us, we will find stony plateaus where dromedaries graze. After a journey full of ksour, oases, and palm trees, we will arrive at Tineghir (where the spectacular Todra gorges are located), perched at 1,350 m altitude and surrounded by a palm grove. We continue towards Erfoud (city of fossils) and then we will arrive at Rissani, with its interesting market, where nomads from the surrounding area come to sell their livestock and buy the belongings they need. Finally, we will arrive in Merzouga, in front of the high dunes of Erg Chebbi. In the afternoon, the dromedaries await us and we will enter the desert while the sun sets, until we reach the tent camp in the middle of the high dune desert, where we will spend the night in a tent. Dinner and night in a camp under the desert stars.
In the morning, after breakfast, we will return by camel to the town and meet the driver to visit Khamlia, a town originally from Mali, where we will relax with tea while enjoying a small concert of Gnawa music. Before leaving Merzouga,
We will take a short tour of the Erg Chebbi in 4×4, an extension of sand desert where the Great Dune of Morocco is located, more than 250 meters high. connecting by track with part of the route followed
by the old Paris-Dakar
and with the mountains that border Algeria in the background. Stop at a panoramic point where you can contemplate the Erg Chebbi as a whole. The rest of the day we will use to return to Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley, one of the longest rivers in Morocco. Stop to admire the charming adobe kasbahs and Berber villages that dot the route and the interesting geological formations of the Draa Valley. Dinner and night in Ouarzazate.
Ouarzazate is also known as the Holliwood of Morocco, as many famous films have been filmed there (The Jewel of the Nile, The Scorpion King, Kingdom of Heaven, Mission Cleopatra, etc.) and continue to be filmed. If you like cinema, you can visit the film studios where the sets for some of these films are located. Then heading north, detouring along a 6 km track that will take us to the town of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit its Kasbah (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO). In this spectacular setting, renowned films such as Gladiator and The Jewel of the Nile have been filmed.
