Itinerary: 3 Days Desert Tour From Fez
Day 1: Fez, Ziz Valley, and Merzouga
We depart from your accommodations in Fes, and we start our 3-day desert tour from Fez From Fez through the Middle Atlas and the Ziz valley before arriving at Erfoud, the city of fossils and marble, in the Erg Chebbi Sahara The Merzouga Desert is our next stop after that. From this point, your desert caravan will drive you to the bivouac in the center of Erg Chebbi’s sand dunes. Sleep in nomad tents while you enjoy the sunset. Dinner and sleeping at the campsite
Day 2: Merzrouga Desert Excursion
Let’s take a trip around the desert scenery of Merzouga. After breakfast, we ride camels to the Merzouga settlement, where we meet a nomad family. From there, we travel to Khamlia, a village famous for its Gnawa musicians, where you may have lunch while admiring Gnawa dances. From there, we’ll ride camels to our tent, where you may use a customized board to enjoy some sandboarding. Following the breathtaking sunset, a musical performance will be held in the camp, where you may enjoy a wonderful evening of dancing and Berber music. Having dinner by the campfire.
Day 3: Merzouga, Ziz Valley and Fez
It is time to head back to Fes. After breakfast, we ride a camel out of the dunes. Then we travel to Rissani to see Molay Ali Cherif Alaoui’s tomb. After that, we’ll drive through the Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas, stopping in Azrou’s cedar forest to snap stunning pictures of the monkeys who live there in the wild.
