Join us on a breathtaking 3-day journey from the historic city of Fez to the majestic dunes of the Merzouga Desert. Traverse the scenic landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains, visit traditional towns and lush valleys, and experience the magic of the Sahara with camel rides, nomadic encounters, and nights under the stars.
Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
Your adventure begins with a morning departure from your accommodation in Fez.
Journey through the picturesque Middle Atlas, passing by the charming alpine town of Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou.
Continue south through the scenic Ziz Valley, known for its lush palm groves and dramatic rock formations.
After a stop in Erfoud, famous for its fossils, you’ll arrive in Merzouga on the edge of the Sahara.
From here, enjoy a camel trek across the towering dunes of Erg Chebbi and witness a stunning desert sunset.
Spend the night in a traditional Berber camp, with dinner and live music around the fire.
Day 2: Merzouga Desert Exploration – Khamlia – Nomadic Visit – Sandboarding
Wake up to a golden sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast in camp.
Today is dedicated to discovering the beauty and culture of the desert region.
Visit a nomadic family, explore the black desert and seasonal lakes (if available), and stop at Khamlia village to enjoy live Gnawa music performed by local musicians.
After lunch, return to the camp for sandboarding or simply relaxing among the dunes.
In the evening, share a traditional dinner under the stars, accompanied by drumming and Berber songs around the campfire.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Ziz Valley – Middle Atlas – Fez
After an early breakfast, return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga village.
Begin your journey back to Fez, stopping in Rissani to explore its lively souk and visit the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, the founder of the Alaouite dynasty.
Travel once more through the beautiful Ziz Valley and Middle Atlas, with a final stop in Azrou to meet the wild Barbary macaques in the cedar forest.
Arrival in Fez by late afternoon, where your driver will drop you off at your accommodation.
